Auf dem Schild ruht eine dreitürmige rote Mauerkrone; als Schildhalter zwei steigende silberne Rosse, die auf goldenem Sockel stehen.

Istorija predmeta
Deutsch: Das am 24. November 1927 durch das preußische Innenministerium verliehene Wappen, welches am 24. März 1927 durch den Magistrat beantragt wurde, weist durch die Bärentatzen als Zeichen der Grafen von Hoya, auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit Bassums (bis 1582) hin. Die Lindenblätter repräsentieren die zahlreichen Linden, die die Straßen der Stadt säumen, welche auch zu dem Titel „Lindenstadt“ führten. Die Blätter symbolisieren zudem den Zusammenschluss der drei Flecken Bassum, Loge und Freudenberg im Jahre 1896. Die Mauerkrone steht als Symbol für die Freudenburg sowie für die Stadtrechte. Die zwei Rosse als Schildhalter sind Symbol des Landes Niedersachsen und weisen auf die heutige Zugehörigkeit hin. Verliehen am 24. November 1927.
English: The arms were granted on 24 November 1927. The lower part shows the bear claws derived from the arms of the Counts of Hoya. to which the city belonged to since 1582. The tilia leaves in the upper represant the three former municipalities Bassum, Freudenberg and Loge who built the new city of Bassum in 1896. The mural crown, symbolises the 13th century Freudenburg castle and the city rights as well and two horses as supporters stand for the belonging to Lower Saxony.
