Um hino nacional é uma canção patriótica reconhecida pelo governo de um Estado como a sua canção oficial. Durante os séculos XIX e XX, com o crescimento do nacionalismo, a maioria dos países adotaram um hino nacional, que em alguns casos coexiste com outras canções patrióticas. Na lista que se segue, as nações que deixaram de existir, ou que não são já Estados independentes mas que mantém um hino oficial, estão em itálico. As colônias apenas são incluídas na lista se tiverem um hino separado em adição ao da nação mãe.

Most of the parliamentary groups said they listened to all three shortlisted proposals but opted for the composition called ‘Europe’ by Mehdi Mengjiqi, which has no lyrics as it would respect the multi-ethnic nature of Kosovo.
