Muchotrzew (Spergularia (Pers.) J.Presl & C.Presl) – rodzaj roślin z rodziny goździkowatych (Caryophyllaceae). Obejmuje 63 gatunki[4]. Występują one na wszystkich kontynentach z wyjątkiem Antarktydy. Rosną na skalistych klifach, w miejscach suchych i piaszczystych oraz na solniskach[5] – liczne gatunki są halofitami[6].
Rozmieszczenie geograficzne
[edytuj | edytuj kod]Przedstawiciele rodzaju występują na rozległych obszarach w strefach umiarkowanych obu półkul i na obszarach górskich w strefie międzyzwrotnikowej[4]. W Europie rośnie 17 gatunków[5], w Ameryce Północnej 11[6], w Polsce od 3 do 5 (w zależności od ujęcia systematycznego i źródła danych)[7].

Morfologia

- W większości płożące byliny i rośliny jednoroczne o wysokości do 15 cm[5].
- Liście
- Naprzeciwległe, wąskie, mięsiste, niepodzielone, z papierzastymi przylistkami[5].
- Kwiaty
- Pięciokrotne, zwykle różowe i otwierające się w słońcu. Działki kielicha wolne. Płatki niepodzielone. Pręciki w liczbie od 1 do 10. Zalążnia górna, słupek z trzema szyjkami[5].
