ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ
ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ( née ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ, 16 ਜੂਨ 1926 – 30 ਦਸੰਬਰ 2013) ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨੀ ਕਲਾਸੀਕਲ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਦੱਖਣ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੀ, ਉਹ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਤਮ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨੀ ਗਾਇਕਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਗਾਲੀ, ਉਦੈ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਰਾਜੇਂਦਰ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਖਿਆਲ, ਠੁਮਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।[1][2][3] ਉਹ ਸਿਤਾਰ ਵਾਦਕ ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਇਲਨ ਵਾਦਕ ਐਲ. ਸੁਬਰਾਮਨੀਅਮ (ਉਸਦੀ ਧੀ ਵਿਜੀ (ਵਿਜੇਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ) ਸੁਬਰਾਮਨੀਅਮ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ) ਦੀ ਸੱਸ ਸੀ।
ਜੀਵਨੀ
[ਸੋਧੋ]1921 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਡਾਂਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਭੀਮ ਰਾਓ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤਵਾਦੀ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਤਮਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ‘ਹਰੀਜਨ’ ਦੀ ਸਹਿ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਸੀ। 1939 ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਦੈ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਡਾਂਸ ਟੋਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਰਾਸ (ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੇਨਈ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ) ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਲਾਸਿਕ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੀ ਡਾਂਸ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਅਲਮੋੜਾ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ। 1941 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਉਦੈ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ, ਰਾਜੇਂਦਰ (ਉਪਨਾਮ ਰਾਜੂ) ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਕਮਲਾ ਵੀ ਉਦੈ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਬੈਲੇ ਟਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਂਸਰ ਸੀ।
ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਨੱਚਣਾ ਛੱਡਣਾ ਪਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਨਾਟਿਕ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦਾ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ, ਉਸਨੇ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਅਬਦੁਲ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਖਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਈ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਬੀੜਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ, ਸਿਤਾਰ ਵਾਦਕ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੈ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਵੀ ਲਈ।
1974 ਵਿੱਚ, ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਉਤਸਵ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਯੂਰਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਰਜ ਹੈਰੀਸਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਫੈਮਿਲੀ ਐਂਡ ਫ੍ਰੈਂਡਜ਼ ਐਲਬਮ (1974) ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੋਕਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੌਪ ਸਿੰਗਲ " ਆਈ ਐਮ ਮਿਸਿੰਗ ਯੂ " ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ। ਦੌਰੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਉਸਨੇ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਕੀਤਾ।[4]
ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇ ਲਾਸ ਏਂਜਲਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਡਾਂਸ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਭਰਤਨਾਟਿਅਮ ਲਈ ਭਰਤਨਾਟਿਅਮ ਲਈ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਹੁਮੁਖੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਕੂਲਤਾ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ 30 ਦਸੰਬਰ 2013 ਨੂੰ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।[5]
