ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਐਕਟ 1947 ਯੂਨਾਈਟਿਡ ਕਿੰਗਡਮ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਐਕਟ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਨਵੇਂ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ। ਇਸ ਐਕਟ ਨੂੰ 18 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1947 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਛਮ (ਅਜੋਕੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ) ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬ (ਅਜੋਕੇ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼) ਖੇਤਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, 15 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ।[1][lower-alpha 1]
ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ,[2] ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਲੀਗ,[3] ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ[4] ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਲਾਰਡ ਮਾਊਂਟਬੈਟਨ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ 3 ਜੂਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਊਂਟਬੈਟਨ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਆਖਰੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਸੀ।
