Un glacièr (var. glacèir, glacèr, glacier) es una massa gròssa de glaç mai o mens espandida que se forma a la superfícia de la Tèrra per compactacion e cristallizacion de la nèu.
Los glacièrs se forman dins d'airals ont s'acomola mai de nèu en ivèrn que la que se fond en estiu. Quand las temperaturas se mantenon jos lo punt de congelacion, la nèu tombada càmbia son estructura perque l'evaporacion e la condensacion|recondensacion de l'aiga provòcan la recristallizacion que va formar de grans de glaç pus pichons, espesses e de forma esferica. Aqueste tipe de nèu recristallizada es sonada neviza en espanhòl, firn en anglés.
