Skafsåsteinen

Skafsåsteinen er en runestein ved Skafså kirke i Tokke kommune i Telemark. Steinen ble første gang beskrevet av Hans Jacob Wille i 1790, den sto da ved kirkedøra. Samme sted sto den da Sophus Bugge besøkte stedet på 1860-tallet. Han kunne da konstatere at steinen ikke sto på sin opprinnelige plass, men denne kunne ikke lokaliseres. I 1892 opplyser Oluf Rygh at steinen ligger nede, det gjorde den også da Magnus Olsen undersøkte den i 1923. I dag er steinen satt opp inne i våpenhuset i kirken.

Innskriften er:

arnkairs sunir ris(?)u eluþesa (eft)ir þiuþulb (b)roþor koþmontr rist runar þesar auk þeir ontor mrs(?)

Oversatt til norrønt blir det: Arngeirs synir reistu hellu þessa eptir þjòđolf brođur. Guđmundr reist runar þessar ok þeir Ǫndottr.

Og på moderne norsk: «Arngeirs sønner reiste denne hella etter Tjodolf (deres) bror. Gudmund ristet disse runer, han og Ondott.» Steinen dateres til ca. 1100.
