Romaprotokollene

Romaprotokollene av 17. mars 1934 var avtaler inngått mellom Italia under Benito Mussolini, Østerrike under Engelbert Dollfuß, og Ungarn under Miklós Horthy / Gyula Gömbös. De tre protokollene trådte i kraft 12. juli 1934 og ble registrert i League of Nations Treaty Series av 12. desember 1934.[1]

De skulle legge grunnlaget for et tettere økonomisk samarbeid mellom de tre land.[2] Østerrike og Ungarn skulle styrkes i sin uavhengighet og Italia sikre sin innflytelse i Donauområdet. Disse avtalene var rettet både mot Tyskland og Frankrikes bestrebelser for å øke sin innflyelse på Balkan.

Avtalene ble fornyet i 1936. Men ved Anschluss, da Østerrike ble del av det tyske rike, ble de irrelevante.
