Islam på New Zealand er et forholdsvis nytt fenomen. De første muslimer kom på 1870-tallet. Det er nå over 36 000 muslimer på New Zealand. Den første muslimske organisasjon, New Zealand Muslim Association, ble etablert i Auckland i 1950. Det første islamske senteret ble åpnet i 1959.
