Innstilling

Eksamen med innstilling, eller laudabilis med innstilling, fra latin laudabilis cum litteris commendatitiis, ble tidligere brukt som ekstra heder til kandidater med beste hovedkarakter ved universitetseksamen av høyere grad. Det ble gjort innberetning til Kongen når en kandidat hadde avlagt eksamen med et slikt resultat, derav «med innstilling» i navnet.[1]

Ved Norges tekniske høgskole ble kandidaten tildelt innstilling ved en snittkarakter på 1,5 og 1,0 på Det store eksamensarbeidet, vanligvis omtalt som «diplomen».
