Hypnotize er det femte studioalbumet av System of a Down og ble gitt ut i 2005, samme år som Mezmerize. Albumet er en del av Mezmerize/Hypnotize-serien til System of a Down. Albumet er mye roligere forhold til System of a Downs tidligere album og albumets tyngste sang er «Attack». Selv om albumet ikke var like tungt, ble det sertifisert platina av RIAA og kom på 1.-plass på Billboard 200. Det ble gitt ut fire singler; «Hypnotize», «Lonely Day», «Kill Rock'N Roll» og «Vicinity of Obscenity». «Lonely Day» ble nominert til en Grammy. Alle singlene hadde kommersiel suksess unntatt «Vicinity of Obscenity» som klarte seg ganske dårlig.
