View from the Tautra end of the 2.3 km long Tautrabrua causeway bridge, which takes fylkesvei (county road) number 67 across parts of the Trondheimsfjord - from mainland Frosta to Tautra.

Tautrabrua is a narrow, single lane bridge built with a couple of wider sections where two cars can meet and pass each other. When it was first constructed, in 1979, it turned out to have a negative impact on the local wildlife because predators (such as cats and foxes) would use it to cross over to the island. Thus, in 2004 an automatic gate was installed near the middle of the bridge, only opening up to cars but otherwise remaining closed to hinder four legged predators in crossing.
