Drivgarn

Drivgarn er et fiskeredskap, garn som brukes enkeltvis eller knyttes sammen til en garnlenke, ofte over flere kilometer, driften i vannet holdet garnet utstrakt og loddrett. Garnene kunne være på opptil 10 til 12 favner. De var ofte bundet fast i fartøyet med en taukabel, slik at fartøyet lå på drift sammen med garnlenken.[1]

I 1897 ble det gitt støtte for å drift med drivgarn til havs. Dette ga bedre sysselsetting året rundt.
