Silbo gomero
Silbo gomero, også kjent som el silbo, er eit plystrespråk frå La Gomera, ei av Kanariøyane. Språket kan brukast til å kommunisera på avstand i det bratte landskapet. Språket har ei historie på fleire hundre år. Det blei brukt av urfolket på øya for å kommunisera sitt språk, guanche. Etter at spanjolane okkuperte Kanariøyene på 1500-talet, tilpassa dei siste guanchane plystresråket til spansk. Språket stod i fare for å døy ut på 1900-talet, men interessa for det auka på slutten av hundreåret, og det blei innført skuleundervising i det.
Sidan 2009 har silbo gomero vært oppført på UNESCO si liste over immateriell verdsarv.[1]
