Bustadblokk på Gyldenpris

Gyldenpris er eit bustadområde i Bergen og ligg vest for Puddefjorden. Namnet er henta frå ein lystgard frå 1700-talet, som var skild ut frå Damsgård. Hovudhuset stod til 1955. Bergen kommune kjøpte eigedommen Gyldenpris i 1912 og hadde planar for utbygging av bustader. Etter bybrannen i Bergen i 1916 vart det bygt barakker på Gyldenpris for husville. Området vart administrativt overført frå Laksevåg til Bergen i 1921. Då budde det om lag 1700 innbyggjarar på Gyldenpris.

Langs Damsgårdssundet var det i siste del av 1800-talet bygd ut industri. I 1956 vart området knytt nærare til Bergen kommunikasjonsmessig ved at Puddefjordsbrua vart opna.
