Tabaksteeltmuseum
Het Tabaksteeltmuseum is een thematisch museum aan de H.v.d. Boschstraat 46 in het dorp Amerongen in de Nederlandse provincie Utrecht
Het Tabaksteeltmuseum werd in 1984 geopend als "Historisch Museum Amerongen" en, na een grondige renovatie, in 2009 als Tabaksteeltmuseum heropend. Het is gevestigd in een gerestaureerde authentieke tabaksschuur. Het toont het verleden van drie eeuwen tabaksteelt in Amerongen en omgeving.[1]
Het voorste deel van de 19e-eeuwse schuur herbergt de permanente collectie aan de hand van voorwerpen in vitrines, fotopresentaties, computeranimaties en video’s. Het achterste deel is ingericht als tabakschuur.[2] Hier wordt getoond hoe de tabak van het tabaksveld werd gedroogd en verwerkt. Bij het museum is een tabaksveldje waarop in de praktijk wordt getoond hoe de tabaksteelt eeuwenlang verliep.
