Cyril John Mockridge (Londen, 6 augustus 1896 – Honolulu, 18 januari 1979) was een Brits-Amerikaans componist van filmmuziek.
Levensloop
[bewerken | brontekst bewerken]Mockridge volgde een opleiding als pianist aan de koninklijke muziekacademie in Londen. In 1922 emigreerde hij naar de Verenigde Staten. In de beginjaren van de geluidsfilm kreeg hij de eerste aanbiedingen in de filmindustrie. Hij werkte voor de filmstudio 20th Century Fox als arrangeur en componist. Vanaf 1959 werkte hij vooral voor televisie. Mockridge werd genomineerd voor een Oscar voor zijn muziek bij de film Guys and Dolls (1955).
