Nakasendō

Turapan batu asal (石畳, ishidatami) di Nakasendo

Nakasendō (中山道, Nakasendou, "Laluan di Pertengahan Gunung", juga ditulis sebagai 中仙道 dan 仲仙道) atau juga Kisokaido (木曽街道)[1] merupakan satu daripada lima laluan utama pada zaman Edo yang menghubungkan antara Edo (kini Tokyo) dan Kyoto di Jepun. Selain daripada Tokyo dan Kyoto, laluan ini juga merentasi wilayah Saitama, Gunma, Nagano, Gifu dan Shiga.

Latar belakang

Nakasendo mempunyai jarak sebanyak lebih kurang 135 ri 10 chou (lebih kurang 526.3 km) yang bermula dari Nihonbashi, Chuo, Tokyo ke Sanjō-ōhashi, Kyoto. Pada laluan ini terdapat 69 stesen dan 67 tempat berehat dan disediakan juga 50 orang dan 50 ekor kuda sebagai simpanan di laluan tersebut.[1][2]
