Lyncornis, juga dikenali sebagai taptibau (sungguh), ialah sebuah genus taptibau dalam keluarga Caprimulgidae.

Taksonomi

Genus Lyncornis telah diperkenalkan pada tahun 1838 oleh pakar ornitologi Inggeris John Gould dengan Lyncornis cerviniceps sebagai spesies jenisnya.[1] Takson tersebut kini dianggap sebagai subspesies untuk taptibau besar.[2] Nama genusnya menggabungkan lunx, lunkos dari bahasa Yunani Purba yang bermaksud "cahaya" dengan ornis yang bermaksud "burung".[3]

Genus tersebut mengandungi dua spesies:[4]

Kedua-dua spesies tersebut dahulunya diletakkan dalam genus Eurostopodus. Ia telah dipindahkan ke genus Lyncornis yang dibangkitkan berdasarkan hasil kajian filogenetik molekul yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2010 yang menemui perbezaan genetik yang besar antara taptibau besar dan spesies lain dalam Eurostopodus.[4][5]
