Pokok Jati merupakan sejenis pokok yang menghasilkan kayu bermutu tinggi. Nama ilmiah jati adalah Tectona grandis. Pohon Jati merupakan pokok yang besar, berbatang lurus, dapat tumbuh mencapai tinggi 30-40 m. Ia berdaun besar, yang luruh di musim kemarau.[2]

Jati dikenal dunia dengan nama teak (bahasa Inggris). Nama ini berasal dari kata thekku dalam bahasa Malayalam, bahasa di wilayah Kerala di India Selatan.[3]

Antara kelebihan menanam pokok jati ialah jati lebih tahan terhadap serangan hama dan penyakit .[4]
