Hungary telah menyertai Pertandingan Lagu Eurovision sebanyak 17 kali sejak membuat penampilan sulungnya pada 1994 . Hungary cuba untuk mengambil bahagian pada 1993 tetapi gagal melayakkan diri dari pertandingan kelayakan khas yang ditubuhkan untuk tujuh bekas negara blok timur.[1][2]

Pertandingan pertama Hungary pada tahun 1994 kekal paling berjaya, dengan Friderika Bayer menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat keempat. Satu-satunya keputusan lima teratas negara ialah tempat kelima András Kállay-Saunders pada tahun 2014. Keputusan sepuluh teratas mereka yang lain ialah Magdi Rúzsa menamatkan tempat kesembilan pada tahun 2007, ByeAlex kesepuluh pada tahun 2013, dan Joci Pápai kelapan pada 2017, memberikan jumlah lima sepuluh teratas kepada Hungary.[3][4][5][6][7]
