Deutsch: Die heraldische Rose im Schildhaupt wurde dem Wappen des Ortsadelsgeschlechts der Herren von Ottenhofen entnommen, die mit Ezzo von Ottenhofen 1083 erstmals belegt sind und bis Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts als Grund- und Niedergerichtsherren in der Hofmark Ottenhofen eine wichtige Rolle spielten. Der Drache, ein Lindwurm, mit dem Buchstaben S im Rachen entstammt als für den Namen redende Figur dem Familienwappen der Eßwurm, die den Besitz 1545 erwarben und bis 1608 als Hofmarksherren in Ottenhofen wirkten. Von beiden Familien sind Grabsteine mit den Familienwappen in der Pfarrkirche St. Katharina überliefert.
