[തിരുത്തുക]1819 ജൂൺ 30ന് ന്യുയോർക്കിലെ മലോണിൽ ജനിച്ചു.വില്യം അൽമൺ വീലർ എന്നാണ് പൂർണനാമം. ഫ്രാങ്ക്‌ലിൻ അക്കാദമി, വെർമൊൻട് സർവ്വകലാശാല എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പഠിച്ചു. സാമ്പത്തിക കാരണങ്ങളാൽ ബിരുദം നേടാനായില്ല.[2]
