ശ്രേണി
ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ അനുക്രമത്തിലെ പദങ്ങളുടെ തുകയായാണ് ശ്രേണികൾ(Series) നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നത്.ഗണിതശ്രേണികൾ പലവിധമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അനന്തം പദമുള്ളവയേയാണ് ശ്രേണി എന്ന പദം സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.
അനന്തശ്രേണി
[തിരുത്തുക]ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ, അനവസാനമായി തുടർന്നുപോകുന്ന അനുക്രമപദങ്ങൾ (sequences of terms) + (അധികം), -(ന്യൂനം) എന്നീ ക്രിയാചിഹ്നങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് ഘടിപ്പിച്ചാലുണ്ടാകുന്ന വാക്യമാണ് അനന്തശ്രേണി(Infinite series).
അനന്തശ്രേണികൾ(Infinite Series) രണ്ട് തരത്തിലാവാം
- അഭിസാരി ശ്രേണി(Convergent series)
പദങ്ങളുടെ തുക ഒരു പ്രത്യേകമൂല്യം നൽകണം. ഉദാ:ഫാക്ടോറിയൽ ശ്രേണി
- വിവ്രജ ശ്രേണി(Divergent Series)
ഇവിടെ സങ്കലനമൂല്യം കണ്ടെത്താനാവില്ല
1, 2, 3...., n, ... ഏറ്റവും ലളിതമായ അനുക്രമമാണിത്.
1 + 2 + 3 + ... + n + ...=∞σ n=1n ; 1+1/22+1/32+........+1/n2+ .....=∞σn=1 1/n2 മുതലായവ അനന്തശ്രേണികളാണ്. ∞σn=1 n,∞σn=1 1/n
എന്നിവയുടെ ആകെത്തുകയും അനന്തമാണ്. എന്നാൽ ∞σn=1 1/n2; ∞σn=1 1/n3;...
എന്നിവയുടേത് അനന്തമല്ല. ആദ്യത്തെ തരത്തിന് അപകേന്ദ്രശ്രേണി (Divergent series) എന്നും രണ്ടാമത്തേതിന് അഭികേന്ദ്രശ്രേണി (Convergent series) എന്നും പറയുന്നു.
ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊരു പദത്തോട് ഒരു സ്ഥിരസംഖ്യ തുടർച്ചയായി ചേർത്താൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന പദങ്ങൾ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു സ്ഥിരവ്യത്യാസശ്രേണി (Arithmetic series) ഉണ്ടാക്കാം. അതുപോലെ ആദ്യപദത്തെ തുടർച്ചയായി ഗുണിച്ചാലുണ്ടാകുന്ന പദങ്ങൾ ക്രമത്തിൽ കൂട്ടിയാൽ ജ്യാമിതീശ്രേണി (Geometric series) ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. സ്ഥിരവ്യത്യാസശ്രേണിയിലെ പദങ്ങളുടെ വ്യുത്ക്രമങ്ങൾ ചേർത്താൽ ഹാർമോണികശ്രേണിയും (Harmonic series) ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. 2 + 5 + 8 + 11 +....; 8 + 4 + 2 +1+1/2 + 1/4 +......;1/2 +1/5+ 1/8+1/11+... എന്നിവ ഇവയ്ക്കു ക്രമത്തിൽ ഉദാഹരണങ്ങളാണ്.
അഭികേന്ദ്രശ്രേണി, അപകേന്ദ്രശ്രേണി എന്നീ തരംതിരിവുകൾ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രത്തിലെ അനാലിസിസ് എന്ന ശാഖയിലെ മുഖ്യ പ്രശ്നമാണ്. ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ നിത്യപ്രയോഗത്തിലുള്ള പല ശ്രേണികളും ഉണ്ട്. 1-1/2+1/3-1/4......=log2;1- 1/3 +1/5 - 1/7 +1/9 ...=π/4

1 + 1/22 +1/32+........=&pi2/6
1 + 1/22 +1/32+........=&pi2/8
1 + 1/1 +1/1*2+1/1*2*3 +.......=e=2.7182818....
പദങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം ക്ലിപ്തമാണെങ്കിൽ ആ ശ്രേണിക്ക് ക്ലുപ്തശ്രേണി അഥവാ സാന്തശ്രേണി (finite series) എന്നുപറയുന്നു. സാന്തശ്രേണി ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ ഒരു പ്രശ്നമല്ല; അനന്തശ്രേണിയാണ് പ്രശ്നമാകാറുള്ളത്.
