വാനനിലയം
ആകാശം, ഗാലക്സികൾ, നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ, ഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ, ആകാശവസ്തുക്കൾ, ബഹിരാകാശ പ്രതിഭാസങ്ങൾ മുതലായവ നേരിൽ നിരീക്ഷിക്കാനുളള നിലയങ്ങളാണ് വാനനിലയങ്ങൾ അഥവാ ഒബ്സെർവേറ്ററികൾ (Observatory) . മാനത്തേക്കു തുറന്ന വാതിലുകളെന്ന് ഇവയെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം. ഭൂമിയിലും ഭൂമിക്ക് പുറത്തും ബഹിരാകാശത്തും ഇത്തരം നിലയങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ജിജ്ഞാസയുണർത്തുന്ന ദൃശ്യാനുഭവങ്ങളാണ് വാനനിലയങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നത്. പരിസ്ഥിതി മലിനീകരണങ്ങൾ കുറഞ്ഞ കുന്നിൻപുറങ്ങളോ ഒഴിഞ്ഞ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലോ ആണ് സാധാരണ ഇത്തരം നിലയങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കാറുള്ളത്. ഒട്ടേറെ പുതിയ കണ്ടെത്തലുകൾക്ക് രംഗഭൂമിയാവുന്നതും ഇത്തരം വാനനിലയങ്ങളാണ്.
പുരാതനമായ വാനനിലയങ്ങൾ
[തിരുത്തുക]പുരാതന കാലം മുതൽക്കേ പലരീതിയിലുള്ള വാനനിലയങ്ങൾ നിലനിന്നിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ശാസ്ത്രീയമായ രീതിയിലുള്ള വാനനിലയങ്ങളാരംഭിച്ചത് മധ്യകാല ഇസ്ലാമികയുഗത്തിലാണ്.എഡി. 825 ൽ ബാഗ്ദാദിലാരംഭിച്ച ശംസിയ്യ ഒബ്സർവേറ്ററി അതിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതായിരുന്നു. [1][2][3] ഒമ്പതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുമുതൽ പതിനഞ്ചാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുവരെ വ്യവസ്ഥാപിതമായ രീതിയിൽ ധാരാളം വാനനിലയങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു.[4]പ്രധാനവാന നിലയങ്ങൾ താഴെ ചേർക്കുന്നു.
