"ജബ്ബർവോക്ക്" എന്ന് പേരുള്ള ഒരു ജീവിയെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിനെ കുറിച്ച് ലൂയിസ് കരോൾ എഴുതിയ ഒരു അസംബന്ധ കവിതയാണ് ജബ്ബർവോക്കി. ആലിസസ് അഡ്വഞ്ചേഴ്സ് ഇൻ വണ്ടർലാൻഡിന്റെ (1865) തുടർച്ചയായ ത്രൂ ദി ലുക്കിംഗ്-ഗ്ലാസ് എന്ന നോവലിൽ 1871-ൽ ഇത് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ലുക്കിംഗ്-ഗ്ലാസ് വേൾഡ് എന്ന ബാക്ക്-ടു-ഫ്രണ്ട് ലോകത്തിനുള്ളിലെ ആലീസിന്റെ സാഹസികതയെക്കുറിച്ച് പുസ്തകം പറയുന്നു.

ചെസ്സ് പീസ് കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളായ വൈറ്റ് കിംഗ്, വൈറ്റ് ക്വീൻ എന്നിവരെ ആദ്യമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്ന ആദ്യ സീനിൽ, ആലീസ് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഭാഷയിൽ എഴുതിയ ഒരു പുസ്തകം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു. തലതിരിഞ്ഞ ലോകത്തിലൂടെയാണ് താൻ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ അവൾ താളുകളിലെ വരികൾ കണ്ണാടി എഴുത്തിൽ എഴുതിയതാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു. അവൾ കവിതകളിലൊന്നിലേക്ക് കണ്ണാടി പിടിച്ച് "ജബ്ബർവോക്കി" യുടെ പ്രതിഫലിച്ച വാക്യം വായിക്കുന്നു. അവൾ കടന്നുപോയ വിചിത്രമായ ഭൂമി പോലെ അസംബന്ധ വാക്യം അമ്പരപ്പിക്കുന്നതായി അവൾ കാണുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ഒരു സ്വപ്നദൃശ്യമായി അത് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി.^[1]

"ജബ്ബർവോക്കി" ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ എഴുതിയ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ അസംബന്ധ കവിതകളിൽ ഒന്നായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.^[2][3] അതിന്റെ വിചിത്രമായ ഭാഷ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് അസംബന്ധ വാക്കുകളും "ഗാലംഫിംഗ്", "ചോർട്ടിൽ" തുടങ്ങിയ നിയോജിസങ്ങളും നൽകി.
