കോമൺ-മോണിംഗ് ഗ്ലോറി,[1] റ്റാൾ മോർണിംഗ് ഗ്ലോറി, [2]പർപ്പിൾ മോർണിംഗ് ഗ്ലോറി എന്നെല്ലാം അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഇപ്പോമോയ പർപൂറിയ മെക്സിക്കോയിലും [3] മധ്യ അമേരിക്കയിലും തദ്ദേശവാസിയായ ഈ ഇനം ഇപോമോയ എന്ന ജനുസ്സിലാണ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്. എല്ലാ മോണിംഗ് ഗ്ലോറിയെയും പോലെ, ഈ പ്ലാന്റ് 2-3 മീറ്റർ (6 അടി 7 in-9 ft 10 in) ഉയരത്തിൽ വരെ വള്ളികളായി ചുറ്റിപ്പടർന്ന് വളരുന്നു. 3-6 സെന്റീമീറ്റർ വ്യാസമുള്ള (1.2-2.4 ഇഞ്ച്) വ്യാസമുള്ള നീലനിറത്തിലും പർപ്പിൾ നിറത്തിലും ഉള്ള പൂക്കൾ കാഹളം ആകൃതിയിലാണ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്.[4]
