2007-ൽ ഭാരത സർക്കാരിന്റെ പത്മശ്രീ പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ച ശാസ്ത്രീയ സംഗീതജ്ഞയും ഗസൽ ഗായികയുമാണ് ശാന്തി ഹീരാനന്ദ്.[1][2] ബീഗം അക്തറുടെ ശിഷ്യയാണ്. അവരെക്കുറിച്ച് 'ബീഗം അക്തർ : ദ സ്റ്റോറി ഓഫ് മൈ അമ്മി' എന്ന പുസ്തകം രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. <ref>Shanti Hiranand (2005). [3] 1947 മുതൽ ലാഹോർ റേഡിയോയിൽ അവതരണങ്ങൾ നടത്തി. വിഭജനാനന്തരം ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങി. നിരവധി സംഗീത സി.ഡി. കൾ പുറത്തിറക്കി.
