ക്രിസ്തീയബൈബിളിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ പുതിയനിയമത്തിലെ നാലു സുവിശേഷങ്ങളിൽ മൂന്നാമത്തേതാണ് ലൂക്കാ എഴുതിയ സുവിശേഷം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ലൂക്കോസ് എഴുതിയ സുവിശേഷം (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: The Gospel According to Luke). കാനോനിക സുവിശേഷങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ദീർഘമായതും ഇതാണ്. ക്രിസ്തീയവിശ്വാസത്തിലെ കേന്ദ്രവ്യക്തിത്വമായ നസ്രത്തിലെ യേശുവിന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റേയും ദൗത്യത്തിന്റേയും പുതിയനിയമദൃഷ്ഠിയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ആഖ്യാനമാണ് മൂന്നു സമാന്തരസുവിശേഷങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ ഇതിലുള്ളത്. യേശുവിന്റ ജനനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട സംഭവങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങി സ്വർഗ്ഗാരോപണം വരെ ഇതിന്റെ ഉള്ളടക്കത്തിൽ പെടുന്നു.

പരമ്പരാഗതവിശ്വാസമനുസരിച്ച് ഇതിന്റെ കർത്താവ് സുവിശേഷകനായ ലൂക്കാ (ലൂക്കോസ്) ആണ്.^[1] മുടിയനായ പുത്രന്റേയും നല്ല ശമരിയാക്കാരന്റേയും മറ്റും കഥകൾ ഈ സുവിശേഷത്തിൽ മാത്രമേ കാണുന്നുള്ളു. ഈ സുവിശേഷത്തിലെ ആഖ്യാനം പ്രാർത്ഥനയ്ക്കും, പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിനും, സ്ത്രീകൾക്കും, ആത്മീയാനന്ദത്തിനും പ്രാധാന്യം കല്പിക്കുന്നു.^[2]

ആമുഖപ്രസ്താവന അനുസരിച്ച്,^[3] ഒരു ചരിത്രാഖ്യാനം അവതരിപ്പിച്ച്^[4] ആ ചരിത്രത്തിന്റെ ദൈവശാസ്ത്രപരമായ പ്രാധാന്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു സുവിശേഷകന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം.^[5] തന്റെ ചരിത്രത്തെ രചയിതാവ് മൂന്നു ഘട്ടങ്ങളായി തിരിക്കുന്നു: ആദ്യഘട്ടം സ്നാപകയോഹന്നാനോടു കൂടി അവസാനിക്കുന്നു; യേശുവിന്റെ ലോകദൗത്യത്തിന്റെ കഥയാണ് രണ്ടാമത്തേത്; യേശുവിന്റെ പുനരുദ്ധാനത്തിനു ശേഷമുള്ള സഭയുടെ ജീവിതമാണ് അവസാനാദ്ധ്യായത്തിലുള്ള മൂന്നാം ഘട്ടം.^[6] രചയിതാവ് ക്രിസ്തുമതത്തെ ദൈവികവും, മാന്യവും, നിയമാനുസൃതവും, അന്തർദ്ദേശീയവുമായ ഒരു പ്രസ്ഥാനമായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്നു. ^[1] ഇതിൽ യേശുവിന്റെ കാരുണ്യം എല്ലാ ആതുരരേയും തേടിയെത്തുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അനുയായികൾക്കിടയിൽ സ്ത്രീകൾ സവിശേഷ പ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു; യാഥാസ്ഥിതിക യഹൂദർ പൊതുവേ വെറുത്തിരുന്ന ശമരിയർ പുകഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുന്നു; പുറജാതികൾക്ക് സുവിശേഷത്തെ ആശ്ലേഷിക്കാനുള്ള അവസരം കിട്ടുന്നു.^[7] ചരിത്രമെന്ന നിലയിൽ എഴുതപ്പെട്ടതെങ്കിലും രചയിതാവിന്റെ സ്രോതസ്സുകൾ ചരിത്രരേഖകൾ ആല്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്, ചരിത്രദൃഷ്ട്യാ വിശ്വസനീയമായ വിവരങ്ങൾ ഇതിൽ കാണണമെന്നില്ല.^[8]

തന്റെ കഥയിലെ സമയരേഖയ്ക്ക് ഈ സുവിശേഷകൻ നേരത്തേ എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കാവുന്ന മർക്കോസിന്റെ സുവിശേഷത്തേയും, പിൽക്കാലത്ത് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്ന യേശുവചനശേഖരമായ 'Q' എന്ന രേഖയേയും ആശ്രയിച്ചിരിക്കാമെന്നു കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. സ്വതന്ത്രമായ മറ്റു ലിഖിതരേഖകളേയും ഗ്രന്ഥകാരൻ ആശ്രയിച്ചിരിക്കാം.^[9] പരമ്പര്യവാദികളായ ക്രിസ്തീയപണ്ഡിതന്മാർ ഇത് ക്രി.വ.60-നടുത്ത് എഴുതപ്പെട്ടതായി കരുതുന്നു.^[10][11] അതേസമയം ആധുനികകാലത്തെ ഉദാത്തവിമർശനത്തിന്റെ(Higher criticism) ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ഇതിന്റെ രചനാകാലം ക്രി.വ. ഒന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനദശകങ്ങളിലാണ്.^[12][13]

പൗലോസിന്റെ സഹപ്രവർത്തകനായിരുന്ന 'പ്രിയവൈദ്യൻ' (Beloved physician) ^[൧] ലൂക്കായെ ഇതിന്റെ കർത്താവായി കാണുന്ന പരമ്പരാഗതനിലപാട് ഇന്നും അവതരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടാറുണ്ടെങ്കിലും, ഇതേ സുവിശേഷകന്റെ തന്നെ രചനയായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്ന നടപടി പുസ്തകവും പൗലോസിന്റെ ലേഖനങ്ങളും തമ്മിലുള്ള പൊരുത്തക്കേടുകൾ കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് പല പണ്ഡിതന്മാരും ഈ നിലപാടിനെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.^[14][15] ഇത് ലൂക്കായുടെ തന്നെ രചന ആയിരിക്കുക അസാദ്ധ്യമല്ലെന്ന് ബൈബിൾ പണ്ഡിതനായ റെയ്മണ്ട് ബ്രൗൺ കരുതുന്നു.^[16] എന്നാൽ ഇതിന്റെ കർതൃത്വം അജ്ഞാതമാണ് എന്ന നിലപാടാണ് ഇന്നു മിക്ക പണ്ഡിതന്മാരും സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നത്.^[6]

ലൂക്കായുടെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ കർത്താവു തന്നെ പുതിയനിയമത്തിലെ മറ്റൊരു ഗ്രന്ഥമായ അപ്പസ്തോല നടപടികളും എഴുതി എന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ പണ്ഡിതന്മാർക്കിടയിൽ വ്യാപകമായ സമ്മതി ഉണ്ട്.^[17] തുടക്കത്തിൽ ഇവ ചേർന്ന് രണ്ടു വാല്യങ്ങളുള്ള ഏകഗ്രന്ഥമായിരുന്നു എന്നു കരുതുന്നവരും ഉണ്ട്. ^[18][19][20]
