തുർക്കിയിൽ ആധുനിക പ്രസവചികിത്സ, ഗൈനക്കോളജി, സൌകര്യങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഒരു ടർക്കിഷ് സോഷ്യൽ ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തകനും ടർക്കിഷ് റെഡ് ക്രസന്റ് സൊസൈറ്റിയുടെ ഡയറക്ടറും[1] ഫിസിഷ്യനുമായിരുന്നു ബെസിം ഒമർ അകാലിൻ (1 ജൂലൈ 1862,[2] ഇസ്താംബൂളിൽ[3][4] - 19 മാർച്ച് 1940 തുർക്കിയിലെ അങ്കാറയിൽ), [4] നഴ്‌സിംഗ് ഒരു പ്രത്യേക പരിശീലനമാണെന്നും അത് ഒരു പ്രത്യേക പ്രോഗ്രാമിൽ പഠിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ആദ്യം തുർക്കിയിൽ ഊന്നിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.[5] 1935 നും 1940 നും ഇടയിൽ ടർക്കിഷ് ഗ്രാൻഡ് നാഷണൽ അസംബ്ലിയിൽ അംഗമായി അദ്ദേഹം സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ചിത്രം മുൻ തുർക്കി പോസ്റ്റ്കാർഡ് സ്റ്റാമ്പിൽ ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരുന്നു.[6]
ആദ്യകാലജീവിതം

1862 ജൂലൈ 1 ന് ഇസ്താംബൂളിൽ ആദ്യത്തെ ഒട്ടോമൻ പാർലമെന്റിലെ സിനോപ് പ്രവിശ്യയുടെ ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ആയിരുന്ന ഒമർ സെവ്കി പാഷയുടെയും ഭാര്യ അഫീഫയുടെയും മകനായി ബെസിം ഒമർ ജനിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഒരു സഹോദരി മാസിഡും അസ്മി, അഗാഹ്, കെമാൽ ഒമർ എന്നീ മൂന്ന് സഹോദരന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു[3][7]
പ്രാഥമിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം അദ്ദേഹം പ്രിസ്റ്റിനയിലും പിന്നീട് ഓട്ടോമൻ സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിലും പൂർത്തിയാക്കി. അദ്ദേഹം കൊസോവോയിൽ സെക്കണ്ടറി വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ആരംഭിച്ചു. കുലേലി മിലിട്ടറി മെഡിസിൻ ഹൈസ്കൂളിൽ പൂർത്തിയാക്കി (ഓട്ടോമൻ ടർക്കിഷ്: Kuleli Askerî Tıbbiye İdâdisi). തുടർന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ഇംപീരിയൽ മെഡിസിൻ കോളേജിൽ (ഓട്ടോമൻ ടർക്കിഷ്: Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Şâhâne) പഠിച്ചു. 1885-ൽ മികച്ച ബിരുദം നേടി.[7]
