ഒരു ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് റോക്ക് സംഗീത സംഘമായിരുന്നു ദ പോലീസ്.1997 ലണ്ടനിൽ വെച്ച് രൂപീകൃതമായ ഈ സംഘത്തിൽ സ്റ്റിംങ്ങ് (പ്രധാന ഗായകൻ, ബേസ് ഗിറ്റാറിസ്റ്റ്, പ്രധാന ഗാനരചയിതാവ്), ആൻഡി സമ്മേർസ് (ഗിറ്റാർ) സ്റ്റിവാർട്ട് കോപ്ലാന്റ് (ഡ്രംസ്) എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു അംഗങ്ങൾ.1986,-ൽ ഈ സംഘം പിരിച്ചുവിട്ടുവെങ്കിലും 2007-08 കാലയളവിൽ ഇവർ ഒരു ലോക പര്യടനം നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.
ലോകമെമ്പാടുമായി 7.5 കോടി ആൽബങ്ങൾ വിറ്റഴിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഇവർ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ആൽബങ്ങൾ വിറ്റഴിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള സംഘങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് .[1][2] 2008-ൽ ഇവർ നടത്തിയ ലോക പര്യടനം മൂലം ആവർഷം എറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ വരുമാനം നേടിയ സംഗീതജ്ഞർ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.[3]
6 ഗ്രാമി, 2 ബ്രിട്ട് പുരസ്കാരം തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ നേടിയിട്ടുള്ള പോലീസിനെ 2003-ൽ റോക്ക് ആൻഡ് റോൾ ഹോൾ ഓഫ് ഫെയിം - ൽ ചേർത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്..[4]റോളിംങ്ങ് സ്റ്റോൺ മാഗസിനും വിഎച്ച്1 ഉം തങ്ങളുടെ 100 മഹാന്മാരായ കലാകാരമാരുടെ പട്ടിക യിൽ ഉൾപെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[5][6]
