). ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സായുധ സുരക്ഷ സേനയാണിത്‌. ^[4]1969-ൽ രൂപീകരിച്ച ഈ കേന്ദ്ര വ്യവസായ സുരക്ഷാസേനയിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ 142,526 പേരാണുള്ളത്. 2017 ഏപ്രിലിൽ സർക്കാർ 145,000 മുതൽ 180,000 വരെ ജവാന്മാർക്ക് അനുമതി നൽകി. ^[5]^[6]

കേന്ദ്ര ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രാലയത്തിൻ കീഴിൽ നേരിട്ട് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സേനയുടെ ആസ്ഥാനം ന്യൂഡൽഹിയിലാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയിലുടനീളമുള്ള 300 വ്യാവസായിക യൂണിറ്റുകൾ, സർക്കാർ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ പദ്ധതികൾ, സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് സിഐഎസ്എഫ് സുരക്ഷ നൽകുന്നു. കേന്ദ്ര പൊതുമേഖലാ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലും നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലുമുള്ള വ്യവസായ മേഖലകളായ ആറ്റോമിക് പവർ പ്ലാൻറുകൾ, സ്പേസ് സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ, മൈനുകൾ, എണ്ണപ്പാടങ്ങൾ, റിഫൈനറികൾ, പ്രധാന തുറമുഖങ്ങൾ, സ്റ്റീൽ പ്ലാന്റ്സ്, ബാരേജുകൾ, ഫെർട്ടിലിസർ യൂണിറ്റുകൾ, വിമാനത്താവളങ്ങൾ, ജലവൈദ്യുത/താപ വൈദ്യുതി നിലയങ്ങൾ, ഇന്ത്യൻ കറൻസി നിർമ്മിക്കുന്ന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളും സി.ഐ.എസ്.എഫിന്റെ സംരക്ഷണത്തിലാണ്. കൂടാതെ സ്വകാര്യ വ്യവസായങ്ങൾക്കും ഭാരതസർക്കാരിനുള്ള മറ്റ് സംഘടനകൾക്കും കൺസൾട്ടൻസി സി.ഐ.എസ്.എഫ്. സേവനങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നുണ്ട്.
