ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു നിയമനിർമ്മാണ സഭയായിരുന്നു ഇംപീരിയൽ ലെജിസ്ലേറ്റീവ് കൗൺസിൽ.[1][2][3] 1861 മുതൽ 1947-ൽ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം നേടുന്നത് വരെ ഈ സഭ നിലനിന്നു. കൗൺസിൽ ഓഫ് ദ ഗവർണർ ജനറൽ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ, ഭരണഘടന നിർമ്മാണ സഭ എന്നിവ ഇതിന്റെ ദൗത്യം 1950 വരെ നിറവേറ്റി വന്നു. 1950-ൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ പാർലമെന്റ് രൂപപ്പെട്ടതോടെ അധികാരകൈമാറ്റം പൂർണ്ണമായി. ഇന്ത്യക്കാരെയും ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയുള്ള സഭയായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും യോഗങ്ങളിൽ അവരുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തം വളരെ ശോഷിച്ചതായിരുന്നു[4][5].
