Thomas Kitchin
Tomas Kičinas (angl. Thomas Kitchin; gimė 1718 m. Sadarke – mirė 1784 m. Sent Olbanse) – Anglijos kartografas.
Biografija
[redaguoti | redaguoti vikitekstą]Mokėsi pas Velso kartografą Emanuel Bowen. 1773 m. tapo karaliaus hidrografu.
Žemėlapiai
[redaguoti | redaguoti vikitekstą]Žemėlapius pradėjo leisti nuo 1746 m., pirmiausia Škotijos ir Anglijos. 1778 m. išleido Vest Indijos žemėlapį. Po jo mirties 1797 m. išleistas pasaulio atlasas „Kitchin's General Atlas, describing the Whole Universe: being a complete collection of the most approved maps extant; corrected with the greatest care, and augmented from the last edition of D'Anville and Robert with many improvements by other eminent geographers, engraved on Sixty-Two plates, comprising Thirty Seven maps“, kuriame Lenkijos ir Vokietijos žemėlapiuose buvo atvaizduota ir Lietuva. Pastarąjį išleido Louis Stanislaw d'Arcy Delarochette, su kuriuo T. Kičinas bendradarbiavo.[1]
