Ateities ir praeities santykis fizikiniame laike

Ateitis – trukme neapibrėžtas laikotarpis, stebėtojo požiūriu einantis po dabarties laiko.[1] Mokslas, tyrinėjantis ateities galimybes ir scenarijus, vadinamas futurologija. Apie ateitį taip pat spėliojama pranašystėse, hipotetinę ateitį taip pat aprašo fantastika. Specialiojoje reliatyvumo teorijoje ateitis laikoma absoliučiąja ateitimi arba ateities šviesos kūgiu.[2]

Gramatiškai ateitį įvardija būsimasis laikas.
