Venus in mythologia Romana fuit Romana dea amoris, pulchritudinis, sortis, fecunditatis, prosperitatis. Nomen Veneris venit de verbo venus, quod 'mollis' significat. Venus est similis Aphroditae, deae Graecae. Venus et Mars habuerunt quattuor liberos: Cupido, Deimus, Phobus, et Harmonia. Habuit filium cum Mercurio cuius nomen est Hermaphroditus. Venus celebratur in multis festivitatibus, ex quibus Veneralia et Vinalia Urbana. Veneris signa rosa et myrthus erant. Venus apparet in quibusdam antiquis operibus, quales Ovidi Metamorphoses, ubi narratur Volcanum laqueo cepisse Venerem coeuntem cum Marte et vocavisse ceteros deos ut viderent. Venus quoque cum Anchise viro Troiano, Aenean paruit.
