Petrus Valdes[1] sive Valdus, Valdesius, Valdo (Francogallice: Vaudès sive Valdès; mortuus ante annum 1218) fuit mercator Lugdunensis, qui communitatem Christianam piorum laicorum condidit, quae postea ab eo nomen "Valdensium" traxit. Ab Ecclesia Catholica haeretici censi et per saecula Inquisitione vexati tamen usque ad hunc diem permanent. Praenomen Petri, quod in fontibus eiusdem aetatis non invenitur, ei postea, ut putatur, ab asseclis attributum est.
