Hesydrus, unus quinque fluminum quae provinciae nomen dant circa annum 1857 pictum

Pengabum,[1][2] linguis vernacularibus Pañjāba[3] [pʌnˈʤɑːb] (scriptura Gurmukhi ਪੰਜਾਬ, Devanagari पंजाब; nomen origine Persicum, panj āb, scilicet "quinque aquae") est civitas in regione boreali ad occidentem versus Indiae circiter 26.900.000 incolarum (anno 2008). Quinque flumina in hoc nomine commemorata sunt Hydaspes, Acesines, Hydraotes, Hyphasis et Hesydrus.

Caput civitatis Pengabi Indici est Candīgarha, quod etiam Hariyanae caput est et Unionis territorium per se constituit. In hac civitate lingua Paniabica est sermo publicus.

  1. "Pengabum, Pengab": "India" in Iohannes Iacobus Hofmannus, Lexicon universale (1698) ~
  2. "Pentapotamia ... quam Penjabum appellavere recentiores" (p. 4 apud Google Books)
  3. Inde rarissime "Panjabum". R. N. Cust, "Indica me genuit spissis Himalaiia silvis: / Transi Panjábi flumina quinque soli ..." cf. Disputatio:Lingua_Paniabica
