Heraldus sive fetialis hodiernus tabardo indutus.

Heraldus[1] est officialis publicus cuius munus in initio erat nuntiorum regalium palam proclamandorum, bellorum declarandorum, pacis proponendae, quibus in rebus idem faciebant atque olim fetiales.

Postea etiam munus heraldorum erat de rebus heraldicis curare.
