Georgius Mason, recte in sua stirpe Georgius Mason IV (11 Decembris 17257 Octobris 1792), fuit Americanus reipublicae amicus, vir reipublicae peritissimus, iuris consultus, revolutionarius, legatus ex Virginia ad Conventum Constitutionalem, et cum Iacobo Madison Pater Rogationis Iurum,[1][2][3][4] quibus pro causis habetur unus ex gravissimis Conditoribus Civitatum Foederatarum.[5][6]

Sicut Patricius Henry at alii Antifoederalistae, Mason apertam iurum civitatum et hominum declarationem ad Constitutionem addi poposcit ut auctae gubernationis foederalis potentiae compensentur; quam ob rem Constitutionem non signavit, partim quia eius verba tali declaratione caruerunt. Sua contentio tandem Foederalistis persuasit ut ei duodecim emendationes Constitutionis proponerent; primi decem ascitae, Rogationem Iurum communiter appellatae, a Virginiana Iurum Declaratione deductae sunt, quae Mason anno 1776 composuerat. Etiam servitutem opponebat.

Placide mortuus est Mason domi, Gunston Hall, die 7 Octobris 1792. Hae aedes, in Mason Neck Virginiae sitae, nunc est museum et "tourist attraction." Monumentum Georgii Mason in East Potomac Park Vasiongtoniae, prope Monumentum Thomae Jefferson, die 9 Aprilis 2002 dicatum est. Georgii Mason Pons Vasingtoniam ad Virginiam conectit. George Mason High School in Falls Church Virginiae et Universitas Georgii Mason in Fairfax Virginiae eius honoris causa nominantur; simile, Mason Comitatus Kentuckiae, Mason Comitatus Virginiae Occidentalis, et Mason Comitatus Illinoesiae.
