Ferdinandus Maaß

Ferdinand Maaß (natus die 23 Martii 1902 Ried im Oberinntal in circulo Landeck, mortuus die 15 Octobris 1973 Vindobonae) theologus, historicus ecclesiasticus et iesuita Austriacus fuit.

Absolutorio scholastico anno 1921 Brigantii accepto in vitam monasterialem apud iesuitas iniit. Praeparatio longinqua, ut bonus iesuita fieret, ita dividebatur:

Anno 1931 presbyter ordinatus est. Inde ab anno 1933 in Alma Matre Rudolphina Vindobonensi historiae, geographiae et linguis Romanicis studuit. Anno 1938 doctoratu laureatus est professore Henrico de Srbik postquam defendit thesim Die Jesuiten in Tirol 1838–1848. Unde ecclesiam historicam iesuitas Aenipontanos docuit. Maaß, quoniam anno 1939 schola superior ordini propria post invasionem Germanorum evanuerat, Vindobonam iit. Ibi consuetudines contraxit cum Alphonso Lhotsky, historico artium.

Anno 1947 Maaß habilitationem Vindobonae peregit et in Universitas Leopoldino-Franciscea instruere coepit. Ibi anno 1954 professor extraordinarius factus est antequam anno 1964 Hugoni Rahner succedens cathedram historiae ecclesiasticae arriperet. Mortuus est casum viarium perpessus.
