Disputatio:Moretum

Moretum fuit pagina mensis Martii 2007.

Iustinum fecisse moretum sine aemulo debeo dicere. Sinister Petrus 21:09, 28 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hahahae, gratias tibi ago. Gratum fuit tibi fercula romana praebere ;) --Iustinus 22:00, 28 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking that with the notes as long as they are, we might want them to be in two collumns. I tried copying the code from an older version of en:Chola dynasty (<div class="references-small" style="-moz-column-count: 2; column-count: 2;">) to see how it looked, but the code didn't even seem to wok, so I don't know. So a) what do you think? Would it look better in two collumns? b) if so, what is the proper code that will do the trick? --Iustinus 02:42, 2 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would look better in two columns. Lemme see if I can rustle up an en page...--Ioshus (disp) 03:22, 2 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK the code I used, and the code that Andrew Dalby used as well, both failed to work. However, I note that en:Wikipedia:Footnotes#Style recommendations warns that "this displays as a single column in some common browsers." So maybe Dr. Dalby and I both are using these common browsers. --Iustinus 21:52, 2 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like this page will be up in a couple days. I have a couple more renaissance quotations to add, but other than that, I'm not sure how else to improve this article. Anyone want to offer me some "peer review" please? --Iustinus 18:17, 27 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could suggest a recipe, if one would want to make this. :) Otherwise a really good article. --BiT 20:53, 1 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... well I could maybe give a bibliography of published recipes. That might be useful. The recipe I use myself is the redaction of Sally Grainger and someone called Andrew Dalby, but publishing it here would be ... illegal. Not to mention, not a nice thing to do. I suppose I could come up with my own version, but again, when I make it it doesn't tend to deviate that much from the Dalby/Grainger recipe. --Iustinus 21:15, 1 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think I speak for Sally Grainger in saying that we like to see our material appearing (credited where appropriate) in Latin! Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 11:32, 2 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You sure? Remember that once it finds its way to Wikipedia, it's effectively free-licenced. Of course at least it will be in Latin, which will somewhat limit the audience ;) --Iustinus
Yes, that's the point I had in mind. I somehow doubt if there will ever be a published Latin translation: if by any chance there is, we'll use your translation of the moretum recipe! Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 22:02, 2 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[Of course I'll have to figure out exactly how to translate a recipe written in the "modern" style, with modern measurements to boot]. BTW, what do you think of disputatio:apium? --Iustinus 19:28, 2 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am mulling it over (and Disputatio:Safranum too). These are deep questions. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 22:02, 2 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, Ioshus, Herba may be a blue link, but.. um... check the article ;) --Iustinus 21:18, 1 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Err, umm, ahh...--Ioshus (disp) 21:38, 1 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

wrong button, no intention to vandalise. 89.172.119.131 08:59, 24 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
