Čogori aestate anni 2003.

Čogori (in lingua Balti چھوغوری), vel saepe K2, est mons in Asia, 8611 metra supra maris aequor, secundus ab altissimo in orbe terrarum, post Everestium (8848.86 metra).[1]

In iugo Baltoro montium Imai situs est. Baltoro iugum per confinium Jammu et Casmiriae civitatis Indiae (in regione, qua nunc Pakistania de facto possidet, in regione eius Gilgit et Baltistania) et Xinjiang provinciae Sinarum transit. Ascensus in Čogori e parte Sinica multo difficilior est, quam e parte Pakistanica, et oreobatae saepius a meridie per Pakistaniam ad montem appropinquant.

Čogori, montis nomen proprium, e lingua Balti indigena sumitur, 'montem magnum' significans. K2 numerus est, quo Thomas Georgius Montgomerie(en) anno 1856 cacumen significavit, cum primam regionis tabulam geographicam componeret (K in numero est Karakorum, montium Imai nomen hodiernum).

Expeditio Italica primum anno 1954 cacumen montis attigit. Mulier prima, quae in Čogori ascendit, est Vanda Rutkiewicz(pl) Polona, anno 1986. Viginti tres partes centesimae numeri oreobatarum in cacumen montis profectorum perierunt.
