마리우스 소푸스 리(노르웨이어: Marius Sophus Lie, /liː/ LEE; Norwegian: [liː], 1842년 12월 17일 ~ 1899년 2월 18일)는 노르웨이의 수학자이다. 그의 이름을 딴 리 군과 리 대수로 유명하다.
생애
[편집]목사의 아들로 태어났으며, 현재의 오슬로 대학교인 크리스티아니아 대학교에서 학업을 마쳤다. 1872년에는 크리스티아니아 대학교의 교수가 되었으며, 1886년에는 펠릭스 클라인의 후임으로 라이프치히 대학 교수로 부임했다. 그러나 우울증과 향수에 시달렸으며, 1898년 고향으로 귀향, 이듬해 56세의 나이에 비타민B12 흡수기능이 저하되어 생기는 악성 괴혈병으로 사망했다.
