비브코드(영어: Bibcode)는 천문학 학술 정보 시스템에서 인용될 수 있는 문헌에 대하여 부여하는 고유 식별자이다. 이름은 bibliographic code 비블리오그래픽 코드[*](문헌 코드)의 축약이다.[1]
역사
원래 미국 항공우주국(NASA)의 SIMBAD 데이터베이스와 NASA/IPAC 은하 외 물체 데이터베이스(Extragalactic Database, NED)를 위하여 도입되었으나, 지금은 천문학 및 물리학에서 일반적인 문헌 관리 식별자로 쓰인다. 오늘날 비브코드는 미국 항공우주국과 하버드 대학교 스미스소니언 천체물리학 관측소(Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory)에서 관리하는 천체물리학 자료시스템에서 주요 식별자로 쓰인다.
형식
비브코드는 항상 19개의 아스키 문자로 이루어져 있으며, 다음과 같은 꼴이다.
YYYYJJJJJVVVVMPPPPA
여기서 각 항목의 뜻은 다음과 같다.
YYYY는 출판 연도JJJJ는 저널 이름. 박사 학위 논문의 경우PhDT이다.VVVV는 권 (저널에 출판된 논문의 경우)M은 저널에서 서편(letters)으로 출판된 경우L또는 (서편을 분홍색(pink) 종이에 인쇄하는 저널의 경우)P. 아니면 코드의 중복을 피하기 위하여 임의로Q~Z를 사용할 수 있다.PPPP는 쪽A는 제1저자의 성의 머릿글자
만약 항목의 일부가 길이가 짧거나 항목이 없을 경우, 점(.)으로 채워 길이를 맞춘다. 2007년 이후 arXiv 프리프린트의 경우, JJJJV는 "arXiv"이고, 나머지 VVVMPPPP는 arXiv 코드이다. (2007년 이전 프리프린트의 경우 형식이 다르다.) 예를 들어, 다음과 같은 꼴이다.
