마르키즈 제도
마르키즈 제도(프랑스어: Îles Marquises, Archipel des Marquises, Marquises, 영어: Marquesas Islands)는 남태평양 프랑스령 폴리네시아에 있는 화산섬 군도이다. 가장 높은 곳은 우아 푸 섬 (Ua Pou)에 있는 오아베 산(Mont Oave)이며, 해발 1,203m이다.[1]
마르키즈 제도는 프랑스령 폴리네시아의 다섯 행정구역 (subdivisions administratives) 중 하나이다. 마르키즈 제도의 수도는 누쿠히바섬(Nuku Hiva) 에 있는 타이오해(Taiohae)이다. 마르키즈 제도의 인구는 2007년 8월 인구조사 결과 8,632 명이었다.[2]
