ಹೈಫ
ಹೈಫ (ಹೀಬ್ರೂ: חֵיפָה, Hebrew pronunciation: [χeiˈfä], Ḥefa; ಅರೇಬಿಕ್: حيفا Ḥayfā) ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ದೇಶದ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ನಗರ. ಒಟ್ಟು ೨,೬೫,೦೦೦ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಇರುವ ಈ ನಗರ ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ದೇಶದ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ನಗರ. ಸುಮಾರು ೩,೦೦,೦೦೦ ಜನ ಕ್ರಾಯೋತ್ ಮೊದಲಾಗಿ ತಿರಾತ್ ಕಾರ್ಮೆಲ್, ದಾಲಿಯತ್ ಅಲ್-ಕಾರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಹಾಗು ನೆಶರ್ ಎಂಬ ಅಕ್ಕಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವುಗಳು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹೈಫ ಮೆಟ್ರೋಪಾಲಿಟನ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರು. ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ೬,೦೦,೦೦೦ ಜನ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.[೧][೨] ಈ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ೯೦% ಯಹೂದಿಗಳು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲು ಭಾಗಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನ ಸೋವಿಯ ಯೂನಿಯನ್ (ರಶಿಯಾ)ದಿಂದ ವಲಸೆ ಬಂದವರು. ಇವರುಗಳು ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಭಾಷೆ ಸ್ಲಾವ್. ಸುಮಾರು ೧೦% ಜನ ಅರಬ್ಬರು, ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅರಬ್ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರು.[೩] ಹೈಫ ನಗರ ಬಹಾಯ್ ವಿಶ್ವ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಮನೆ ಕೂಡ. ಬಹಾಯ್ ವಿಶ್ವ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಯುನೆಸ್ಕೋ ವಿಶ್ವ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ತಾಣವೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.[೪][೫]
