Балқытқыш қышқыл — фторсутектің (HF) судағы ерітіндісі. Балқытқыш қышқылдың аты балқытқыш шпаттан (СaF2) алынатындығынан шыққан:

CaF2+H2SO4 = CaSO4+2HF.

Фторсутек металдардың көбімен әрекеттесіп, суда нашар еритін улы фторидтер түзеді. Балқытқыш қышқыл әйнектің құрамына кіретін кремний қостотығымен әрекеттесіп, суда еритін кешенді қосылыс түзетіндіктен, оны шыны ыдыста сақтауға болмайды. Балқытқыш қышқыл фтор қосылыстарын алуға, шыны бетін өрнектеуге, металл құймаларын құмнан тазалауға, т.б. пайдаланылады.[1]
