東京都の坂に関するカテゴリ。 東京の坂は、東京都の中心部や山の手地域の傾斜地（坂）を特徴づけるファクターであり、それを特徴づけるものは崖（擁壁）、階段、斜面樹木であり、江戸・東京学とも呼ばれる東京都心部の都市形成や人文地理学において注目されることのある研究分野である。都心の坂については古くから多くの研究がある[1]。 東京の坂は、名前がついているものだけで800以上もあり、なかでも江戸時代に武家屋敷の多かった文京区・港区・新宿区・千代田区あたりに多い[2]。徳川幕府が山の手台地を武家屋敷、低湿地を町人の下町として江戸の町を築き、江戸の発展に伴い道路網を整備させていったため、多くの坂道が生まれたといわれている[2]。
