歴史
[編集]- 1958年6月13日 - 島根県告示第525号により一般県道として認定される。
- 1972年 - 県道番号再編（固定番号設定）により島根県道158号出雲仁多線になる。
- 1993年（平成5年）5月11日 - 建設省から、県道出雲仁多線が出雲仁多線として主要地方道に再指定される[1]。
- 1994年 - 県道番号変更により島根県道51号出雲仁多線になる。
- 2004年11月1日 飯石郡の掛合〔かけや〕・三刀屋〔みとや〕両町および吉田村と大原郡の全3町（加茂・木次〔きすき〕・大東各町）が対等合併して雲南市が成立する。
- 2005年3月31日 仁多郡の全2町（仁多・横田両町）が対等合併して仁多郡奥出雲町が成立したことに伴い終点の地名表記が変更される（仁多郡仁多町三沢→仁多郡奥出雲町三沢）。
- 2006年3月31日 島根県告示第363号により現行の路線名称に変更される。
